Teaching Direction

Class Planning Method

There are daytime session and Continuing Education Division in our department. Daytime session is four-year program and recruited students from 2002, and will be Grade 4 in 2005. While continuing education division was only one class in two-year program before 2005, and changed to one class in four-year program since 2005, and daytime session increased to 2 classes.

The students in Continuing Education Division of our department mainly have jobs. Therefore teaching method for them is proposed mainly focusing on practical matter and auxiliary by theories. On the curriculum arrangement issue, our department opens more selective courses to satisfy the students with different working background. Therefore the score for selectable courses is 10 score more than that of daytime courses in our continuing education division. On the curriculum arrangement, the teaching goal for both daytime session and continuing education division is basically same, but the content of courses is different. Besides due to the courses are mainly focused on practical issue, the teaching method needs the teacher to collect the experience in the field and application embodiment for teaching, and aim to make students comprehend by analogy.

The score for daytime session of our department are shown below: (8 score more for multi-department students)

Class Planning Process

The courses of our department are divided into courses of Basic Compulsory Major, Core Compulsory Major, Group Major, as well as Upgrading Major. Courses of Basic Compulsory Major are for junior class, Hereafter we would specially require teachers to be strictly holding the pass and ensure each student steadfastly finish the courses. Courses of Core Compulsory Major are important curriculum for finishing the study of this department, also curriculum to cultivate specialty of students, students could engage in work related to software and communication network after finishing the courses. And courses of group major mainly comprise of selectable courses, and due to the restriction of graduated score, students need to select at least two groups of t curriculum to study. And they could seek the direction of further study or future work. Courses of Upgrading Major aims to match the future institute to be established and then provides the student selectable courses related to the institute, and the courses may help students to find inspiration or inspires their innovation ability when studying special projects and provide students more independent thought and growth opportunity.

Courses Planning

Our Department promotes “the course of Intelligent Internet of Things Applications”. The courses planning is divided into three main parts: The basic courses, the core courses, and the application courses. All the courses included in this program are practical training courses, in order to strive to formulate “professional skill” and “practical technology” in a balanced development. When building this courses planning we significantly pay attention to feasibility. This planning is practical training program, emphasizing the hands-on experience, doing through learning, learning by doing. Besides, courses design focuses on cross-field learning, cultivates compound talents, recruits professional teachers, use Project Based Learning (PBL) teaching method, and also provides courses for industry future orientation. The courses mainly focus on training engineer who have an good skills at the applications of Internet of things.
The course of Intelligent Internet of Things Applications will develop 3 stages to be talented engineers.
Internet of Things Applications Engineer: focus on embedded system design, wired/wireless communication devices and the innovative service applications of Internet of Things.
Artificial Intelligence Engineer: focus on machine learning, language learning, audiovisual identifycation, cloud platform and data analysis algorithms.
Big Data Engineer: Data collection, data analysis, data storage, cloud data storage technology, etc.
